Competitive
Analysis Technologies now offers an inter-active, self-paced training course that is the result of five years of oil and gas-training seminars presented around the US for companies and industry organizations.
How to Find Oil
and Gas Information on the Internet is designed to help busy personnel
maximize their productivity in minimal time. We have taken the
lessons learned from these seminars and developed nine interactive modular training segments
that allow for individual feedback. Each module begins with the latest information on the topic, provides the student with step-by-step
examples, and then challenges the student to find the answers to several questions. The lessons
are each 7-12 pages in length. The student searches for the answers on the Internet at their own
pace. Answers are input in an Answer Sheet and returned to the instructor via e-mail. Each
lesson should take no more than one hour to complete. The instructor answers the student's submission with recommended resources and sends the next
lesson to the student. This entire course can be completed in as little as a week, or at a more
leisurely pace as desired by the student.
Who should take this training?
This course is designed for anyone needing upstream oil and gas information from outside
sources in their work. This will include, but not be limited to: engineers, landmen, geologists,
geophysicists, librarians and legal researchers.
Why should I take this seminar? Your time and your knowledge are your greatest assets. Searching for information can become
very time consuming and costly. Knowing how and where to retrieve information quickly and
accurately is a valuable skill that must be constantly improved for you to remain a valuable asset
to your employer and to enhance your career.
Course requirements: The student must have Internet access and be able to exchange attachments via e-mail. Students
will need Adobe Acrobat™ Reader (a free download) to see the lessons. Students should know
how to use Internet browsers. Internet Explorer; version 4.5 or higher is preferred. A general
knowledge of Internet search engines is helpful.
Course Material: Upon registration, each student will receive an introductory packet of information. All lessons
and answers will be transmitted electronically via e-mail.
